The Geometry of Extinction - Painting by Arghyadeep Saha Wrik
The Geometry of Extinction
Acrylic on Canvas
The Geometry of Extinction explores the uneasy relationship between nature and human civilization. Layers of blue evoke water, sky, atmosphere, and memory, while fragments of geometric forms emerge across the surface like traces of expanding cities and human intervention.
The work reflects a recurring contradiction within human history: our ability to create, build, and innovate, while simultaneously consuming the very environment that sustains us. The composition does not present a specific landscape. Instead, it exists somewhere between memory and warning, where natural forms gradually give way to structures of progress.
Through texture, erosion, and fragmented architectural marks, the painting invites viewers to consider what is gained, what is lost, and what may remain long after the noise of civilization has faded.
